Add a new document type
Select the Edit doctype list
button at the right bottom of the Documents
tab of the Product data window. A new
window will be displayed, where you can add or edit the Document types,
displayed in the selection list.
Add a new document type
- Select the button New. The fields will be cleared and the cursor
placed in the Description field.
- Enter the new Document name. You may give same explanation in the remarks
field.
Some examples: Autocad drawing -> Acad drawing can be dragged to Autocad,
Documentation -> General documentation, Ex certificate -> Ex certificate
for electrical components
- Select the Save button to save the changes.
- Select the Close button. Now you are on the Documents tab again.
Click with your mouse on the cell in the 'document type' column. The list
with possible document types does now contain the new document type, and is
selectable. For more information on how to add documents to a product see Product
documentation.
Edit an existing document type
- Select the document type that you want to edit from the list. The data
will now be displayed in the field.
- Move the cursor to the description field, by clicking it.
- Start typing. You will get the question if you want to edit the data.
Select the 'Yes' button.
The changes you make now will also apply for other products that already
have this document type selected.
- Select the Save button to save the changes.
Delete a document type
- Select the document that you want to edit from the list. The data will now
be displayed in the field.
- Select the Delete button. You will get a message when this document
is linked to a product. In that case you can not delete this document. You
will first have to remove it from every product.
