Add a new description

Select the button at the right of the description selection field on the General tab of the Product data window. A new window will be displayed, where you can add or edit the description names displayed in the selection list.

Add a new description 

• Select the button New. The fields will be cleared and the cursor placed in the description field.
• Enter the new description name. Give a description that will be used for searching. Examples are Ball valve, Ball valve (3-way), Check valve, Junction box (Ex), Switch (3-pole).
• Enter a second description at the field Description1. Give here a description that is useful for your bill of materials or for example the description in an other language. Examples are Kogel klep, Kogel klep (3-weg),  Terugslag klep, Contact doos (Ex), Schakelaar (3-polig).
• Select the Save button to save the changes.
• Select the Close button, the new created description is now selected in the description selection list.

Note
The most important rules for creating a new description are:
The description must be easy to find back for other users.
Try to reduce the number of descriptions in the database.
Begin a description with the most descriptive word. 

Edit an existing description

• Select the description that you want to edit from the list. The data will now be displayed in the field.
• Move the cursor to the description field, by clicking it.
• Start typing. You will get the question if you want to edit the data. Select  the 'Yes' button.
  The changes you make now will also apply for other products that already have this description selected.
• Select the Save button to save the changes.

Delete a description

• Select the description that you want to edit from the list. The data will now be displayed in the field.
• Select the Delete button. You will get a message when this description is linked to a product. In that case you can not delete this description. You will first have to remove it from every product.
