Step by step procedures

The following 'step by step' help procedures are available for MatStream Product Information Center. These 'step by step' procedures are very useful for the first times that u use MatStream.

Product management

Adding products

• Add a new product
  Select New from the toolbar. An empty product data window will be displayed.
• Clone an existing product
  Select a product from the search results and select the Clone button from the toolbar. Give a new and unique type number for the new product. The selected product will be copied and the product data window will be displayed.
• Import a product from an other product database (Product.mdb)
  Select Import wizard from the File menu. The import wizard will be displayed.

Deleting or recovering removed products

• Delete a remove product from the database.
  Select the Waste button from the toolbar. The selected product will be moved to the waste bin. Select Deleted items from the File menu, to display the contents of the waste bin.
• Recover a removed product from the waste bin.
  Removed products are placed in the waste bin. From the waste bin the products can be deleted or recovered. Select Deleted items from the File menu to display the waste bin contents.

Edit or add product data

• Edit or add product data of an existing product.
  Select the product that you want to edit and select the properties button from the toolbar.

Import / Export products

• Dragging or copying products to MatStream Bill Of Materials or other applications.
  Start dragging by picking the selected product up at the record selector. Drag the product to the other application and release the mouse button.

• Exporting products to an other database.
  You can copy the products from the search results including the attached documents to an other MatStream product database.
  Select Export from the File menu. The export wizard Will be displayed.
• Importing products to the current database.
  Select Import from the File menu. The import wizard will be displayed.

Multi user environment

Setup MatStream for network use

• Settings in MatStream for use in a network.
  Certain settings need to be adjusted in order to share the databases with other users.

Users and groups

• Creating user groups.
  MatStream's permission system exists of user groups with certain permissions. Users which are member of a group inherits the permissions of that group. A user can be a member of more than one group. Permissions can not be set for single users.
• Setting groups permissions.
  When you change the permissions of a group, all the members will inherit these new permissions.
• Make a user member of a group.
  When you make a user member of a group, then this user will inherit the permissions of this group. When a user is member of more groups, then this user will inherit the highest permissions of each group.
