Create a new product

Go through the next steps to create a new product in Product Information Center.
 

• Select the New button from the toolbar. An empty product data window will be displayed.
• Enter the product data at the following tabs.
  1. General tab
     Enter here the general product data that MatStream use for main the search criteria.
     The field Series/type number may not be left empty, otherwise the product can not be saved. 
  2. Properties tab
     Enter here the properties of a product. These properties can be used for the 'detailed search criteria'.
  3. Suppliers tab
     Add one or more supplier for the product with supplier specific product data.
  4. Documents tab
     Attach documents to the product like manuals, drawings, certificates, etc.
  5. Remarks
     Give general remarks for the product if necessary.
• Select the Ok or Apply button to save the changes.

The product has been saved, and can be used in for instance a bill of materials of MatStream Bill Of Materials.

When using Product Information Center in a multi user environment, permissions can be set for user groups. It may be possible that you don't have enough permissions to create a new product. When the New button of the toolbar is not enabled, then you don't have enough permissions to create a new product.
