Search for linked items in a bill of materials

In many cases you can retrieve in which bill of materials a certain product is used.

Select a product in the result window, select with the right mouse button while your mouse pointer is situated on the record selector. A popup menu is displayed. Select Sub type numbers in this popup menu. The window Search sub types will then be displayed.

You can use this possibility when: 

• MatStream Bill Of Materials is installed.
• Product Information Center is linked to a bill of materials database.
  This is the case when:
  • The Product Information Center is opened from MatStream Bill Of Materials.
    1. Close the current Product Information Center
    2. Open MatStream Bill Of Materials. 
    3. Select Product Information Center in the Tools menu. Product Information Center will be displayed.

    The Product Information Center now knows in which Bill of Materials database it should search and the function Sub type numbers in the popup menu is available.
     

  • The current product database (product.mdb) is located in the same folder as the Bill of Materials database (matlist.mdb) and at this matlist.mdb, the current product.mdb is set as the Product database. 
    
    To check which Product database is linked to the Bill of materials database, you open MatStream Bill of Materials and look at Options in the menu Extra.  At the tab Database you will find  Product Information Database location. The path that is set here, should be the same as the path of the current product database in Product Information Center.
