Link a row to a product group

There are different ways to link a row in your bill of materials to a product group in Product Information Center.
 

• Drag a product group from Product Information Center to an empty row in your bill of materials.
  The product will be added to the bill of materials as a new item. You can change all the data in this row. When you change the type number, then you will get the question if you want to keep the link with the product. When you answer with 'Yes' to keep the link, you have created a new sub type number. If this sub type number will be used next time in a bill of materials, then MatStream will recognize it and link it automatically to the product group (see the next subject).
• By recognition of a (sub)type number.
  When you enter a type number in the type number column, then will MatStream try to find it in previous bills of materials. If MatStream finds the same type number, then it will use this data to complete the row and link it to the proper product group in Product Information Center. 
• By dragging a product group from Product Information Center to a row that is not empty.
  When you do this, you will have to select the way you want this product to be inserted in your bill of materials. See Select how to insert a product for more information.
